Grass staking rewards have quietly evolved from a “maybe someday” promise into something you can actually watch hit your wallet — and that shift is a big reason I haven’t closed my node once this year. Here’s what’s happening on the Grass network right now, and why I think it still deserves serious attention.
Grass is building what it calls the first open, internet-scale web crawl, powered today by over 3 million users running nodes that scrape petabytes of data for AI models.
The concept is dead simple:
it’s a DePIN protocol on Solana where you install the desktop app, leave it running, and the network routes your spare bandwidth to AI labs and enterprise clients pulling public web data for model training.
I’ve been running a node for months, and the flywheel is real.
On the price front, things have been volatile but directionally interesting.
GRASS is currently trading around $0.44 USD
, well off its highs but showing signs of life.
The all-time high sits at $3.90 per token
, which gives you a sense of the ceiling the market has already validated. More encouraging to me is the momentum:
GRASS is up 33.68% in the last 24 hours, sitting at CoinMarketCap ranking #147 with a live market cap around $187 million.
The network has also hit commercial milestones that matter:
revenue totalled $17 million in 2025, then reached roughly the same amount in the first half of 2026 alone, with full-year guidance standing at $65 to $75 million — and a Coinbase spot listing in August 2026 broadened access to the token.
The points and rewards system has also matured significantly.
Grass Points are now divided into two categories — Uptime Points and Network Points — and you can also stake $GRASS tokens to receive long-term incentives, strengthen network reliability, and earn additional rewards.
The key distinction:
Uptime Points are primarily tied to $GRASS token rewards via airdrops, while Network Points appear to be the ones currently compensated in stablecoins like USDC.
In practice,
the network activated the claim process for Stage 2 rewards in July 2026, distributing USDC directly to users’ wallets based on historical “Network Points,” which track bandwidth usage and connection stability.

For anyone thinking about grass staking rewards longer-term, the governance angle is worth watching closely.
A governance vote passed on July 7, 2026 to distribute a share of the network’s USDC revenue to GRASS stakers, with the network reporting $33 million in annualized revenue from selling bandwidth and AI training data.
That’s not vaporware — that’s a protocol with actual paying clients sharing revenue with the people securing it.
On the staking mechanics side,
there is no minimum staking period and rewards are distributed every second, though if you decide to unstake, there is a 7-day unstaking period during which your tokens remain locked before becoming available for withdrawal.
The best available grass staking rewards rate right now sits at
5.96% APY on Stakin, as of August 2026.
Looking ahead,
Season 2 token distribution is expected to release 170 million GRASS tokens to eligible network participants in H2 2026.
That’s a meaningful catalyst. Yes,
early investors hold 25.2% of GRASS’s total supply with tokens scheduled to fully vest by late October 2026
— a supply overhang worth monitoring. But with real revenue, real USDC payouts, and grass staking rewards now backed by protocol income rather than just inflation, Grass feels like one of the few DePIN projects that has earned its next chapter.
My node stays on.
