Grass staking rewards are no longer a vague promise buried in a whitepaper — they’re landing in wallets right now, and that changes everything about how I think about this project. I’ve had the Grass node quietly humming on a spare laptop for months, and watching the network evolve from a simple bandwidth-share experiment into a legitimate passive income layer has been one of the more exciting things I’ve followed in the DePIN space this year.
For the uninitiated:
Grass is a bandwidth-sharing protocol that lets everyday users earn rewards by lending out unused internet capacity, with that data used to support AI applications — meaning you help train large language models or power datasets simply by running the app in the background.
The concept is elegantly simple, and the scale it has reached is hard to ignore.
The network is now powered by over 3 million users running nodes to scrape petabytes of data for AI models.
What really grabbed my attention recently was the governance vote passed on July 7, 2026.
GRASS token utility includes powering transactions, staking for network security, and governance — and a critical development is that a governance vote now distributes a share of the network’s USDC revenue to GRASS stakers, with the network reporting $33 million in annualized revenue from selling bandwidth and AI training data.
That’s real revenue backing real grass staking rewards — not just token inflation.
The points model has also matured significantly.
Grass Points are now divided into two categories — Uptime Points and Network Points — and alongside this, you can stake $GRASS tokens to receive long-term incentives, strengthen network reliability, and earn additional rewards.
Network Points represent actual usage of your contributed bandwidth, with 1,000,000 Network Points distributed daily across participants based on how much of their bandwidth the network actually uses.
This shift matters: the days of passive idling being enough are over, and the network is deliberately rewarding quality over quantity.

On the USDC side,
the network activated the claim process for Stage 2 rewards, distributing USDC directly to users’ wallets based on a user’s historical “Network Points,” which track bandwidth usage and connection stability.
Many people are receiving from a few dollars to tens of thousands of USD, depending on actual contribution.
Price-wise, GRASS has had a volatile but energetic few weeks.
GRASS briefly broke through $0.80, surging over 25% in 24 hours
, and
Multicoin Capital announced an investment in the DePIN project.
That kind of institutional attention, combined with the revenue-sharing mechanics, makes the token feel like it has earned its seat at the table.
The best grass staking rewards rate currently sits at 5.96% APY on Stakin
— not life-changing on its own, but paired with USDC bandwidth payouts and potential Season 2 token distributions, the combined yield picture is genuinely compelling.
The road ahead isn’t without risk.
Early investors hold 25.2% of GRASS’s total supply, with their tokens scheduled to fully vest by late October 2026
— a supply overhang worth watching. But the longer-term roadmap tells a more optimistic story.
A decentralized validator committee is planned as a strategic shift from a centralized validator to a decentralized, staked security model
— a move that would deepen the token’s utility and align stakers even more directly with the health of the network.
I keep my node running because the fundamentals keep improving. Grass staking rewards backed by real revenue, a growing AI data market, and a community of millions of node operators make this one of the DePIN projects I’m watching most closely heading into Q4 2026.
