**Focus keyword chosen (silently, before writing): “Grass staking rewards”**
Grass staking rewards have quietly leveled up this year, and if you’ve been sleeping on the GRASS token, October 2026 might be the moment you finally pay attention. I’ve had the Grass desktop node running on my PC for months now, sharing unused internet bandwidth with the network — and the changes that have rolled out over the past few weeks have made the whole setup feel more serious than ever.
For anyone new to the project:
Grass is a DePIN protocol on Solana. The pitch is simple — you install the desktop app, leave it running, and the network routes your spare bandwidth to AI labs and enterprise clients pulling public web data for model training.
It’s genuinely passive. I barely notice it’s there.
What’s changed recently is the economics.
A governance vote passed on July 7, 2026 to distribute a share of the network’s USDC revenue to GRASS stakers. The network reported $33 million in annualized revenue from selling bandwidth and AI training data.
That’s not a speculative promise — that’s real cash flow being directed back to holders.
The best Grass staking rate currently sits at 5.96% APY on Stakin.
Not life-changing on its own, but when you layer that on top of points accumulation, it starts to add up.

The points system itself has also matured.
Grass Points are now divided into two categories: Uptime Points and Network Points. Alongside this, you can also stake $GRASS tokens, receive long-term incentives, strengthen network reliability, and earn additional rewards.
The key distinction is that
Network Points — awarded for bandwidth the network actually used — pay $0.0049 each, with a 5x bonus on the Desktop app and 10x on Android, while Uptime Points pay for uptime, connection quality, location, and referrals. Bandwidth actually used carries the most weight.
Passive idling alone is no longer enough, which I actually respect — it keeps the network honest.
The Season 2 (Stage 2) airdrop is live and worth noting.
The Grass Season 2 claim opened on July 22, 2026 and closes on January 22, 2027. Earning ended on June 8, 2026, the last day of Epoch 19.
Nodes keep earning points after that snapshot, so anyone still running the Desktop or Android app is building activity a future round could count — though no round has been promised, so treat those points as speculative.
I’m treating the continued running of my node as a free lottery ticket while I collect staking rewards on my held GRASS.
On the price side,
as of October 10, 2026, GRASS is trading at $0.6453, up 1.5% in the last 24 hours.
That’s a meaningful recovery from lows near $0.28 seen in late August, and context matters here:
GRASS is up 73.9% over the past year and 27.7% over 30 days, demonstrating consistent appreciation that mirrors the broader DePIN × AI narrative tailwinds.
The network itself is enormous.
From 2 million users at its 2024 mainnet debut, Grass grew into one of the largest DePIN deployments, reaching 8.5 million monthly active nodes across roughly 190 countries as of 2026.
Scale like that attracts enterprise clients, enterprise clients drive revenue, and revenue now flows back to Grass staking rewards. That loop is why I’m not turning my node off anytime soon.
One thing I’ll flag honestly:
early investors hold 25.2% of supply and fully vest by late October 2026,
so there’s a near-term supply overhang worth watching. But for a long-term node runner stacking points and staking tokens, short-term volatility is just noise.
