**Focus keyword decided: “Grass staking rewards”**
Grass staking rewards have quietly crossed a threshold that makes this project feel genuinely different from the sea of DePIN tokens promising passive income and delivering almost nothing. I’ve had the Grass node extension humming on my desktop for months now, and the combination of price recovery, governance upgrades, and an incoming Season 2 token drop has me more engaged than ever.
Grass Network is a decentralized platform built on Solana, focused on AI development through data collection. It lets you earn rewards simply by sharing your unused internet bandwidth, which the network uses to scrape public web data — cleaned and structured into datasets used to train AI models.
That’s the pitch, and after running a node for a while, I can confirm it genuinely is that passive. My laptop sits open, the extension runs in the background, and points accumulate.
On the price side, things have been volatile but the direction lately has been encouraging.
GRASS is trading around $0.56 today with a 24-hour trading volume of over $66 million — representing a roughly 28% price increase in the last 24 hours and a nearly 67% surge over the past 7 days.
GRASS is outperforming the global cryptocurrency market, which is up only 9.40% over the same period, while also outperforming comparable AI cryptocurrencies which are up 18.60%.
Is it still well below its all-time high? Yes —
Grass hit an all-time high of $3.90 back in November 2024.
But the momentum this week has been hard to ignore.

The more compelling story, though, is what’s happening on the protocol level.
A governance vote passed on July 7, 2026 to distribute a share of the network’s USDC revenue directly to GRASS stakers. The network reported $33 million in annualized revenue from selling bandwidth and AI training data.
That’s not a whitepaper promise — that’s real money being redirected to people who stake and contribute. Grass staking rewards now have a live revenue mechanism behind them, not just tokenomics hopium.
The points system itself has also matured.
Grass Points now break down into two types — Uptime Points and Network Points — giving a clearer picture of both the availability and actual usage of the bandwidth you contribute.
There’s also a 3x Grass Points multiplier currently active for Android users, and if you have an Android phone on a mobile data connection with a different IP from your home Wi-Fi, this stacks on top of your desktop uptime.
I’ve been running both, and the difference in daily point accumulation is noticeable.
Looking ahead,
Season 2 token distribution is expected in H2 2026, with 170 million GRASS tokens set to be released to eligible network participants.
On-chain data shows that 86.6% of Season 1 claimers have not staked — and while it can’t be said definitively that staking is weighted in Season 2 scoring, the team’s repeated emphasis on rewarding “long-term contributions” makes skipping it hard to justify.
There are real risks here.
A major investor token unlock covering roughly 25% of supply concludes in late October 2026, posing a significant overhang if holders decide to sell.
Anyone treating GRASS as a set-it-and-forget-it investment needs to watch that date carefully.
The network is powered by over 3 million users running nodes to scrape petabytes of data for AI models
— that’s a lot of supply-side participants, and not everyone will hold.
But for me, the calculus is straightforward. The node costs me nothing to run, Grass staking rewards are now backed by real network revenue, Season 2 is approaching, and the price has shown it can move fast in either direction. That’s a setup worth staying positioned for.
