**Focus Keyword chosen:** `Grass staking rewards`
Grass staking rewards have moved from a vague promise to a genuinely compelling income stream, and after months of running my node around the clock, I’m more convinced than ever that this project deserves serious attention. For the uninitiated: Grass is a
decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) token that rewards users for sharing their unused internet bandwidth to power AI training and web data collection.
You install the app, leave it running, and the network does the rest. Simple on the surface — but the depth underneath is what keeps me hooked.
The biggest structural news for node operators like me is a governance vote passed in July 2026.
GRASS token utility includes powering transactions, staking for network security, and governance — and a governance vote passed on July 7, 2026 will distribute a share of the network’s USDC revenue to GRASS stakers.
That’s not a speculative future promise;
the network reported $33M in annualized revenue from selling bandwidth and AI training data.
When staking rewards are backed by real protocol revenue rather than pure token inflation, the entire model changes.
This mechanism directly ties token demand to protocol success — if revenue grows and is distributed effectively, it could transform GRASS from a speculative asset into a yield-generating one, attracting long-term capital.

On the points side, the reward model has been refined into two distinct categories that every node runner should understand.
Grass Points are now divided into Uptime Points and Network Points, and alongside earning points you can also stake $GRASS tokens to receive long-term incentives, strengthen network reliability, and earn additional rewards.
Network Points represent actual usage of your contributed bandwidth — each day, 1,000,000 Network Points are distributed across participants based on how much of their bandwidth the network uses.
The practical implication?
Passive idling no longer cuts it the way it once did.
Consistency and connection quality matter. In my own testing, running the app 24/7 on a dedicated machine pays off significantly more than sporadic use.
The Season 2 reward distribution is also live and worth acting on.
The claim window for Season 2 rewards is open until January 22, 2027, with rewards distributed in USDC based on Network Points earned from bandwidth sharing between October 2024 and June 2026.
Separately,
every Grass account will have a built-in non-custodial wallet directly in the app — no need to download a separate app — with functions to store, send, receive GRASS and other assets, and convert or withdraw directly to fiat via debit card, Venmo, or PayPal through MoonPay.
That’s a massive quality-of-life upgrade for everyday contributors.
Then there’s the institutional signal that lit up crypto Twitter at the end of September.
GRASS briefly climbed above $0.80, setting a record high after gaining more than 25% over 24 hours — a move that followed Multicoin Capital’s investment in Grass through its hedge fund and venture capital fund, with the firm positioning the DePIN project as a data-access layer for machine intelligence.
Revenue growth backs that conviction:
revenue totaled $17 million in 2025, then reached roughly the same amount in the first half of 2026 alone, with full-year guidance standing at $65 to $75 million — while a Coinbase spot listing in August 2026 broadened access to the GRASS token.
Between Grass staking rewards now backed by real protocol revenue, a maturing two-tier points system, Season 2 USDC claims live until early 2027, and a major VC firm validating the AI data thesis, the fundamentals have never looked stronger. Supply unlocks are a near-term headwind worth watching, but for those who believe in the DePIN narrative — and who have the patience to keep their node humming — Grass remains one of the most interesting projects to have running in the background right now.
