**Focus keyword decided:** *Grass staking rewards*
Grass staking rewards have quietly evolved from a “wait and see” promise into one of the more genuinely interesting passive-income setups in the DePIN space right now. I’ve had the Grass node running in the background for months, and between the price action, governance news, and a revamped points system, there’s a lot worth unpacking for anyone paying attention.
Let’s start with the price.
GRASS briefly climbed above $0.80 late in September, setting a record high after gaining more than 25% in a single 24-hour window.
That move followed Multicoin Capital’s investment in Grass through both its hedge and venture funds, with the firm framing the project as a data-access layer for machine intelligence.
Even after pulling back,
GRASS is trading around $0.69 as of early October 2026
— a far cry from its February lows, and a sign the market is starting to reprice what this network actually does.
What does it actually do?
Grass is a DePIN protocol on Solana — you install the desktop app, leave it running, and the network routes your spare bandwidth to AI labs and enterprise clients pulling public web data for model training.
The barrier to entry is close to zero.
Participation requires no specialized hardware and does not slow down normal internet use.

The points model has gotten more sophisticated, and that’s a good thing for serious contributors.
Grass Points now break down into two types — Uptime Points and Network Points — giving a clearer picture of both the availability and usage of the bandwidth you contribute.
Network Points represent actual usage of your contributed bandwidth, with 1,000,000 Network Points distributed daily across participants based on how much of their bandwidth the network actually uses.
Passive idling alone no longer cuts it, which honestly makes the whole system feel fairer.
On the staking side, the biggest development of 2026 is the governance vote.
A governance vote passed on July 7, 2026, to distribute a share of the network’s USDC revenue to GRASS stakers — and the network reported $33 million in annualized revenue from selling bandwidth and AI training data.
That turns Grass staking rewards from a speculative bet into something with a real cash-flow component behind it.
Revenue totaled $17 million in 2025, then reached roughly the same amount in the first half of 2026 alone, with full-year guidance standing at $65 to $75 million.
Season 2 is also on the horizon.
A possible Season 2 distribution of around 170 million GRASS tokens has been discussed, alongside USDC-style human data rewards, staking behavior, and eligibility conditions including points, verified wallets, and active node contribution.
Crucially,
only 13.4% of Season 1 airdrop recipients have staked their tokens
— which means the vast majority of holders aren’t yet sending the on-chain signal that Season 2 eligibility likely rewards.
The supply unlock risk is real and worth watching.
Early investors hold 25.2% of GRASS’s total supply, with tokens subject to a one-year cliff scheduled to fully vest by late October 2026.
That’s a headwind to navigate. But with genuine revenue sharing now baked into Grass staking rewards and institutional players taking notice, I’m keeping my node online and my tokens staked. The fundamentals are finally catching up to the vision.
