Grass staking rewards have quietly evolved from a vague promise into something you can actually track on-chain — and if you’ve been sleeping on this network, now is the time to wake up. I’ve had the Grass app running in the background for months, sharing my spare bandwidth while I work, and the fundamentals behind this project have never looked more convincing than they do right now in October 2026.
For the uninitiated:
Grass is a DePIN protocol on Solana. The pitch is simple — you install the desktop app, leave it running, and the network routes your spare bandwidth to AI labs and enterprise clients pulling public web data for model training.
What started as a browser extension experiment has become something far larger.
From 2 million users at its 2024 mainnet debut, it grew into one of the largest DePIN deployments, reaching 8.5 million monthly active nodes across roughly 190 countries as of 2026.
The biggest catalyst for those of us staking or thinking about staking is the governance shift that happened earlier this year.
A governance vote passed on July 7, 2026 to distribute a share of the network’s USDC revenue to GRASS stakers. The network reported $33 million in annualized revenue from selling bandwidth and AI training data.
That’s not speculation — that’s real cash flow being routed back to holders.
Under the July 2026 governance vote, stakers gain claims on part of the USDC revenue produced by bandwidth and data sales.
This is what separates Grass from most DePIN projects that are all promise and no product.
On the business side, the numbers are accelerating fast.
Grass disclosed $17 million in revenue for the first half of 2026, matching its full-year 2025 total. The company is profitable and forecasts $75 million in training-data revenue for 2026. Its roadmap includes launching a Contents API and Search API to move into the potentially larger market of live AI inference and retrieval.
Then came the validation that made my node feel even more worthwhile:
on September 29, 2026, Multicoin Capital announced a strategic investment in Grass through both its hedge fund and venture fund, backing the decentralized bandwidth network that uses crypto incentives to recruit over 6 million contributors who share idle internet for AI data collection.
Ready to start earning?
For anyone actively earning points, it’s worth understanding how the rewards model works today.
Grass Points are now divided into two categories: Uptime Points and Network Points. Alongside this, you can also stake $GRASS tokens, receive long-term incentives, strengthen network reliability, and earn additional rewards.
One underused tip:
Grass currently offers a 3x Grass Points multiplier for Android users. If you have an Android phone on a mobile data connection — a different IP from your home Wi-Fi — this stacks on top of desktop uptime.
On the price front, GRASS has been volatile but very much alive.
GRASS price is around $0.63–$0.69 this week, with a live market cap near $444 million.
There is a near-term headwind worth noting:
a major investor token unlock of approximately 25% of supply concludes in late October 2026, posing a potential overhang if holders sell.
That’s a real risk — but for node operators focused on accumulating points and grass staking rewards for the long game, short-term price noise is exactly that: noise.
The Grass Season 2 USDC claim opened on July 22, 2026 and closes on January 22, 2027
— so if you participated in Stage 2 and haven’t claimed yet, do it now. And if you’re not running a node yet, the window to build history for any future round is open.
Nodes keep earning points after the June 8, 2026 snapshot, so anyone still running the Desktop or Android app is building activity a future round could count.
With Multicoin backing, real revenue, and grass staking rewards now tied to actual USDC income, the fundamentals are finally catching up to the vision. My node stays on.
